Cauldon heavily gilded dinner plate. Item 4914.This very good quality, heavily gilded dinner plate was made by Cauldon China as part of a dinner set which would was retailed by the New York branch of John Wanamaker & Co. of Philadelphia. On the rim, sandwiched between two intricately designed acid etched gilt bands is a detailed pattern of raised gilding sitting on a rich cobalt blue ground. This pattern is V3334. The plate has a diameter of 272 mm (10.75 inches) and is in very, very good condition. It dates from the perion 1920-5.
