John Campbell two handled vase. Item 4692.This two handled vase from the John Campbell factory in Launceston is glazed in a lustrous blue colour flecked with white. With the way the glaze has been applied around the base, it is very reminiscent of large blue waves crashing in to a cliff. To add further interest, there are three small areas where the brown body wasn’t completely covered by the blue glaze, and are peeking out through the final clear glaze. The John Campbell signature is that used by Billy Foster who threw the piece. The height is 185 mm and the diameter is 182 mm. The vase is in excellent condition and would date from the 1930’s.
